So, early today I came across this track. And I was blown away. Omar Akbar is shear lyricists, and his speedy spoken word-esque flow clashed well with the the beat. I was also really enjoying the intelligibleness, afro-centrism/black empowerment, and alternative black culture oozing from this video. In short I’m looking forward to this man’s future projects, and I’m sure anyone who is willing to take time watch this video will most definitely be bumping this guy.

I fell in love with Yuna last year after hearing her single “Live Your Life”. Needless to say, after that occurred I played her album like crazy. Now she’s got a new EP out and it’s lovely as can be. I fell hard in love with Banks a few months ago and I don’t think it’s dying down anytime soon. Here she’s brought us a new track produced by another one of my favorites in the music scene, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs. This track is a bit sweeter and more calm than her other tracks but it’s still quite the beautiful gem. I just want a full length album already!

Didn’t take much for me to become totally into this track. It’s catchy but also has some serious edge to it. It’s a fusion of sexy and dark. WRLDS seem to be pretty new but I’ll definitely be watching out for some more because this has me on a lockdown!
